Fred Batterton

Certified Passive House Designer

Fred has 40yrs experience in designing for community and church clients, schools and universities, houses and housing including aged care, student and multi-residential.

This has included investigating site opportunities, concept design and detailing. He has applied these skills to new-build, extending and repurposing buildings including heritage buildings both in Australia and previously in the UK.

Fred’s focus is on making property useful for the work of the church, having authored “Making Property Serve Mission”, a guidebook for church leaders. He is also passionate about inside/outside space design and environmental sustainability to Passivhaus standard.

Fred has been adviser to the Baptist Union of Victoria and the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne.

Fred enjoys meeting people with property challenges to solve, especially early in the process and applying lateral thinking with good design to invent solutions.
Fred is married with 5 adult children and 5 grandchildren.
Firdaus Kartika

BArchitecture (RMIT) MMDesign (Monash) RAIA

Firdaus is an Architect with 20+ years’ experience, enjoying all aspect of project delivery - from master planning through to project completion and occupation. 

Within his experience across a diverse scale of projects, Firdaus has been responsible for the delivery of a range of sectors including churches, award winning faith-based education facilities with Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne as well as Victorian Department of Education, early learning centres, workspace fit outs, aged care facilities and multi residential. 

Placing a high priority on communication and his ability to listen and develop ideas, Firdaus engages skillfully with a collaborative, clear and organised approach with clients, stakeholders and design teams.
Firdaus enjoys reading, sketching and loves playing tennis, piano, building robot Lego with his son.
Roderick Neil

BPD (Melb), BArchitecture (Melb H1) RAIA
Certified Passive House Designer

With over 25 years of experience in Architecture Rod has worked for several major architectural firms and has designed and managed award winning projects from concept to completion in a wide variety of sectors including commercial, educational,
retail, hospitality, residential, multi-residential,
defence, ecclesiastical, childcare, and
heritage. In fact, architecturally, there isn’t much he hasn’t done!

Rod is an expert in design, visual storytelling,computer modelling and visualization, all of which he has taught at the University of Melbourne. He thrives on being in a state of constant learning and is passionate about providing great design outcomes for any budget.

Rod is a Passive House certified architect with a passion for green energy, self-sustainability, and efficient design.
Rod’s other passions are family (4 kids), church, travel, piano, photography, Star Wars, and the Hawthorn Football Club.
